Safiul Alam, Software Developer, Finland
Our Software Developer, Safiul Alam, joined Tosi in March 2025 and plays a key role in the development of our software. His work helps ensure that our customers have a pleasant and reliable user experience with Tosi.
How would you describe your job to a 7-year-old?
You know how a building needs pipes, wiring, and power before anyone can use the rooms? I build that for our software. If I do it right, customers have a great time using the software, and everything works and stays up.
How did you end up in your current role?
I started out building critical software and infrastructure. I then moved into a cloud company, where I worked across many environments and projects in cloud, AI, and critical infrastructure. Tosi gave me the chance to go even deeper into the granular side of infrastructure, and I've been able to make a real impact on the reliability of our platform.
What is the best part about your job/working at Tosi?
The people, and how direct things are. The team is small enough that you can talk to whoever you need and get a decision without a chain of meetings. I also like that our customers are enterprises with serious reliability and security requirements, so the engineering has to be done properly.
If you had to swap places with a colleague for one day, who would it be and why?
Someone in customer service or sales. I mostly see the platform through metrics and logs, and I'd like to see how customers experience it day-to-day and where they run into friction. That kind of insight would make me a better engineer, and I'd probably come back with a few things to fix.
