Ray Balaster, Technical Operation Manager, The United States
Our dedicated Technical Operation Manager Ray Balaster started working at Tosi in July 2019 and is located in the USA.
How would you describe your job to a 7-year-old?
I help people connect their things to other things.
How did you end up working at Tosi?
I was the first-ever North American user of Tosi. When I discovered Tosi, I was looking for a better way to make a secure remote connection to our equipment. I started Googling, but only after I had exhausted the typical “solutions” did I stumble upon Tosi. When I read the description, I knew that it would solve the problem I was having exactly. I stayed in touch with the company, and when the time was right for both myself and Tosi, we connected on a more formal level, and I joined the team officially in 2019.
What is the best part about your job/working at Tosi?
Solving people’s problems. I also find it refreshing to work with and learn from people worldwide. It gives me the opportunity to see things from a different perspective.
Whom would it be if you had to swap places with a colleague for one day?
Our Senior DevOps Engineer Janne, but only if I also acquired all of his knowledge, because he knows almost everything there is to know related to our products.
Could you tell us one thing that only a few people know about you?
I can’t type. I actually got kicked out of the keyboarding class for hacking into the school’s network.
Fun fact about yourself?
My wife and I are outfitting a 44-foot cutter-rigged sailboat in which we plan to travel the world. Maybe in ten years, it’ll be done.
